Terms of Service

Effective July 16, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Tarzan Technologies LLC, which operates Amblee ("Amblee", "we", "us"). They govern your use of the Amblee iOS app, web dashboard, and browser extension (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

01Acceptance and eligibility

You may use the Service only if you are at least 18 years old, are located in the United States, and can form a binding contract with us. You are responsible for your account credentials and for everything that happens under your account. You may sign in with an email and password or with Sign in with Apple or Google.

02What Amblee is (and is not)

Amblee helps you block gambling and prediction-market apps and sites until you meet a monthly deposit goal you set for yourself (your "monthly minimum"). Progress toward that goal is verified through a read-only bank connection.

Amblee is not:

• Medical care, therapy, or addiction treatment. The Service does not diagnose, treat, or cure any condition, and nothing in the Service is medical advice.
• Financial, investment, or tax advice. In-app projections are illustrations only, based on a disclosed assumed 10% annual return. They are not predictions, guarantees, or recommendations.
• A bank, broker, or money transmitter. See Section 5.

03How blocking and unlocking work

On iPhone

Blocking on iPhone uses Apple's Screen Time framework. You choose which apps to block in Apple's own picker. Your selections stay on your device; Amblee records only that a selection exists, not which apps you picked.

In browsers

The browser extension blocks sites using a seed blocklist (80+ gambling and prediction-market sites) plus any domains you add yourself. Removing a domain from your blocklist takes effect only after a delay, by design. When the extension cannot reach our servers and its data is stale, blocks fail closed (they stay on).

Guardrails and hardship unlock

Sensitive changes, such as lowering your goal, removing blocklist entries, or unlinking a bank account, require your 4-digit guardrail PIN or your account password. If you need access in an emergency, a hardship unlock lifts your blocks for 24 hours after a 10-minute delay. You can use it at most 3 times per month, and it asks you to write a short reflection that only you can see.

Honest limits

A determined user can always get around Amblee, for example by deleting the app, removing the Screen Time configuration or the browser extension, or using another device. Amblee is designed to add friction and time between impulse and action. It cannot and does not promise to make betting impossible, and you agree not to rely on it as if it could.

04Subscriptions and billing

• The Service starts with a 7-day free trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, at the plan you selected.
• Billing is handled by Apple through In-App Purchase. You can cancel anytime in your App Store subscription settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. We cannot issue refunds for purchases made through the App Store.
• We may offer web billing through Stripe in the future. If we do, its terms will be presented at checkout.

05Bank connections and our non-custodial commitments

You can connect bank and brokerage accounts through Plaid so Amblee can verify your deposits. This connection is read-only. We commit that Amblee:

• never holds, moves, or invests your money;
• never sees your bank username or password (you authenticate directly with Plaid);
• never initiates transactions of any kind.

Savings goals count net confirmed deposits into the accounts you designate: withdrawals subtract from your progress, and reversed deposits subtract and can re-lock your blocks. Investing goals count transfers from your bank to known brokerages, or deposits into a brokerage account you have linked. Your use of Plaid is also subject to Plaid's own terms and privacy policy.

06Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms;
• probe, disrupt, reverse engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems;
• connect financial accounts that you do not own or lack authority to connect;
• resell the Service or misrepresent your affiliation with Amblee;
• interfere with rate limits, blocklists, or safety mechanisms, except through the controls the Service provides.

07Intellectual property

Amblee and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, blocklists, and branding. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your own non-commercial use while these Terms are in effect. You keep ownership of content you create in the Service, such as hardship reflections, and you grant us only the limited rights needed to store and display it back to you.

08Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In particular:

• Blocking may fail or lapse. Operating system updates, App Store or Screen Time changes, browser changes, network outages, stale data, unsupported apps or sites, and similar factors can prevent blocks from applying or persisting.
• Deposit verification depends on data from Plaid and your financial institutions, which may be delayed, incomplete, or inaccurate.
• Projections and any savings or investing figures shown in the Service are illustrations, not promises of any financial outcome.

09Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Amblee will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, or gambling losses, even if we have been advised of the possibility. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is capped at the amount you paid us in subscription fees in the 12 months before the claim arose. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

10Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Amblee harmless from claims, damages, and reasonable legal fees arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

11Termination and account deletion

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from the app or by emailing support@amblee.co. When you delete your account, your bank connections are severed immediately and your data is permanently deleted after 30 days, as described in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate your access if you materially violate these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including Sections 7 through 10) do survive.

12Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

13Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where state law applies, the laws of the state in which Amblee's parent company is organized, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the United States.
